Now on to the southern coastline of Nicaragua. — By far the most popular part of the country to visit from a coastline perspective. Here you have the hub of backpacking and beach tourism in San Juan del Sur, and also the budding backpacker destination that is a paradise on earth called 'Popoyo'. This part of Nicaragua was probably my favorite. It has everything. Whereas in the north and the center you practically just have surfing, here in the south you will have a social scene, and you will be able to meet lots of other travelers. — Not necessarily just surfers. I will go into a lot of detail about Popoyo and San Juan Del Sur below, but just know that if you are coming to Nicaragua, this is probably the coastal part where you will be spending all of your time, especially if you are not surfing, or wanting to learn. The north and center are more for people who are just chasing waves and already know what they are doing.
